Whos On Call?
An enterprise-wide scheduling
system for creating, tracking and maintaining dynamic on-call
schedules. Whos On Call? is an intranet-focused business
process module for managing every aspect of clinical on-call scheduling.
It reduces the time spent in the creation, maintenance and distribution
of departmental schedules. It provides better information flow
throughout the organization while easily integrating changes and
updates in real time. Whos On Call? delivers a return on
investment by reducing costs, improving care and raising customer
services levels. The system integrates with external notification
systems like paging, PDA, etc. to help maintain the same information
across a variety of electronic platforms.

Key Features
Main on-call Sheet
- The main on-call sheet lists all the personnel who are on-call
as of now.
- All the changes made within an hour are shown in a different
color.
- The call sheet can be integrated with alpha paging system.
A Click of a button sends a predefined message to the providers
pager.
- The system automatically refreshes the screen every 90 seconds.
- Monthly and weekly views are provided to have a consolidated
view of the call assignments for the week or month.
Department Management
- Create departments and services.
- Create multiple shifts for services. Shifts can be created
for everyday or multiple days.
- An easy-to-use time picker is available to specify timings.
- Add providers of various provider types to the system. Assign
/ re-assign the providers to various departments.
On-call Scheduler
- Assign calls to the providers of the system
- Assign calls using predefined shift timings.
- Have a preview of the shift assignments before assigning the
shift.
- Select date and time for on-call using the date and time picker.
- Providers have the facility to cover each others calls.
- Calls can be covered fully or partly.
- Automatic e-mail notification is sent to both the providers
and the respective department administrator.
- Providers can be made unavailable for on-call.
Personal Calendar
- This is a calendar which displays general and departmental
holidays.
- Call assignments and the unavailability of the providers are
displayed.
- Set / reset reminders.
- If the reminder is set then the system sends a reminder to
the provider 24 hours prior to the scheduled call assignment
Audit Trail
- Audit trail for on-call Assignment, call coverage and change
of provider information.
- Filter the results by department, provider or date.
- Displays the before and after image of the on-call assignment
with the type of activity performed.
Message Board
- Message board is used for putting requests for call coverage.
- Providers can put requests and other providers can view them.
This facilitates better communication between providers and
on-call schedule can be changed faster.
Feedback
- Feedback utility is used to send feedback to the department
administrators of the selected departments by e-mail.
General
- Maintain hospital-wide holidays.
- Department administrators can setup special holidays for their
respective departments.
- Maintain reason codes for marking providers as unavailable.
For example, vacation, attending conference, out of Town etc.
